About the role
As a Fund Specialist you will support the end-to-end delivery of fund operations for a portfolio of alternative investment fund clients. Working closely with senior colleagues and Client Leads, you will contribute to daily fund accounting, reporting, and client communication – building deep expertise in fund structures and operations as you go.
This is a role with real responsibility from the start. You will own specific tasks and workflows, develop your client knowledge, and gradually take on more as your confidence and skills grow. Embankment is a place where initiative is noticed and rewarded – the pace of development is largely in your hands.
You will be part of a collaborative Stockholm team with a flat structure, direct access to senior expertise, and strong emphasis on getting things right. AI and automation are part of the default toolkit here — you're expected to use them, question them, and help us improve them.
Main responsibilities
– Support end-to-end fund administration for a portfolio of alternative investment fund clients – accounting, drawdowns, distributions, and NAV calculations
– Prepare and review fund accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial statements under the guidance of senior team members
– Assist with investor reporting, capital account statements, and regulatory filings
– Handle day-to-day client communication – responding to queries, gathering information, and building your understanding of each client's needs
– Coordinate with internal teams (compliance, legal, AML/KYC, onboarding) to ensure smooth client operations
– Maintain accurate records and documentation across fund structures and client accounts
– Contribute to process improvement – spotting inefficiencies, applying digital tools, and helping the team work smarter
– Grow your expertise actively – ask questions, take ownership of your development, and build toward greater responsibility over time
About you
You're at the start of your career in finance or fund operations – or perhaps making a move from audit, accounting, or a related field. You don't need years of fund experience. What matters is that you're sharp, structured, and genuinely motivated to build deep expertise in this space. You're the kind of person who takes ownership of their work, follows through on the details, and asks relevant questions. You find energy in learning, you care about getting things right, and you're excited – not intimidated – by a fast-moving environment.
You bring:
– 0–3 years of experience in fund administration, accounting, audit, finance, or a related field
– A strong academic background in accounting, finance, economics, or similar
– Comfort working with numbers, structured data, and modern productivity tools and quick to pick up new software and make it work for you
– High attention to detail – you notice when things don't add up and you care about fixing them
– Clear written and verbal communication in English; Swedish or Danish is a plus
– A genuine curiosity about how alternative investment funds work and a desire to become an expert
You are:
– Structured and accurate – you approach your work methodically and take responsibility for quality
– Proactive and curious – you don't wait to be told what to learn, you go and find out
– A team player – you support your colleagues and communicate openly
– Comfortable with digital tools – and genuinely interested in how AI and technology can improve how work gets done
– Ambitious – you want to grow, take on more, and build a serious career in fund services
